2.1
Introduction and Objectives

Lawyers who maintain a professional standard of communication are less likely to face complaints to the Law Society, are better able to serve their clients in a professional manner, enjoy better professional relationships, and enjoy greater respect from their clients, their peers and the judiciary.

The objectives of the Communication Module are to:

  • learn about communication skills;
  • learn how to effectively communicate with clients;
  • learn how to effectively communicate with others;
  • recognize common communication problems and possible solutions; and
  • appreciate the importance of communicating with the Law Society.

Although we aim to present a comprehensive module, this module is not exhaustive. This module is not a substitute for exercising professional judgment and does not constitute legal advice.
