CPD Learning Activity Reflection

Next time you undertake a CPD learning activity, whether it is taking or teaching a course, presenting on a subject, attending a webinar, writing or reading an article on something relating to your practice area, or another type of learning activity, use the following questions to reflect on your experience.  

Before the activity 

  • Why are you completing this activity?  
  • How does it fit with your educational or career goals?  
  • What are you hoping or expecting to learn from this activity?

After the activity  

  • At what moment did you feel most engaged in the activity? Why? 
  • At what moment did you feel most distanced? Why?
  • At what moment did you feel you most understood the content?
  • At what moment did you feel most confused by the content? 
  • What was your most rewarding experience in completing the activity? Why? 
  • What was your most surprising experience in completing the activity? Why? 
  • Was anything presented that is still unclear to you? If so, what is it? 
  • Did the activity meet your expectations? Why or why not?
  • What other activities could you undertake to complement what you learned through this activity?
  • Can you think of ways you can apply what you learned to your practice?
